FAQs about Steel Plates Rental

We provide short-term or long-term rental of heavy-duty steel plates of various sizes, complete with delivery and pick-up in the Greater Montréal / southern Québec / south-eastern Ontario region.

Common applications include temporary equipment pads, crane mats, trench or pit covers, heavy-load staging areas, equipment move surfaces, and temporary roads across soft ground or protected turf.

Rental inventory typically features plates ranging from ¼″ to 1″ thick (or more) and widths/lengths such as 5′×8′, 6′×10′, 8′×12′ or 8′×20′ depending on load and rental provider.

Estimate the load (vehicle, crane, equipment weight), determine support surface and ground bearing strength, then select a plate size and thickness that distributes the load safely. For example, a heavy traffic path may need 1″ thick plates; light equipment may use thinner. Consult your rental provider for load charts.

The rental includes delivery and pick-up by the provider. On-site you should plan for proper lifting equipment (crane or forklift), ensure clear access, safe stacking/unloading zone, and that the plates are returned in similar condition or rental may incur repair/replacement fees.

  • Lower upfront cost: rent only for the required duration.
  • No storage or long-term inventory holding fees.
  • Flexibility: scale up or down the rental quantity as the job progresses.
  • Sustainability: reuse of heavy-duty plates supports circular-economy goals.

Provide your site location, required rental duration (start & end dates), plate size(s) (width × length × thickness), load type (vehicle, crane or staging), quantity of plates, any special finish needed (anti-slip, painted), and any delivery/pick-up constraints (site access, weekend or out-of-hours). This allows accurate pricing, scheduling and logistics planning.
